South Africa

A world in one country

Table Mountain – Hoerikwaggo

Fourteen years ago when we started our tour company we gave it the name ” Hoeri Kwaggo” which means “Mountain in the Sea” in the ancient KhoiSan language. Worldwide this “mountain in the sea” is known as Table Mountain which is an icon and landmark in global tourism and now also one of the New Seven World Natural Wonders.

Sabine Lehman, the CEO of Table Mountain Aerial Cableway describes this as an enormous achievement which could see Table Mountain added to many people’s bucket list. Cape Town mayor Patricia de Lille said the news was a great honour “not just for South Africa but also for Africa

All the major sightseeing destinations in the Western Cape namely Cape Town, Cape of Good Hope, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens (rated among the top 5 in the world), the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, Robben Island, Cape Winelands, Garden Route / Klein Karoo, West Coast and Cederberg will benefit tremendously as they are all within close distance to Table Mountain. Simultaneously other South African destinations like the unequalled Kruger National Park, the Cradle of Mankind, KwaZulu Natal Game Parks and nature reserves, the Drakensberg and Namaqualand in the Northern Cape will benefit from this announcement. The latter could equally also be named a Natural Wonder as this is the greatest flower spectacle on earth where nature paints a fantastic landscape of colour every year during August and September. Even the neighbouring countries in Southern Africa, like Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Swaziland and Mozambique will gain a lot more tourists.

Today we as Hoeri Kwaggo Tours and Safaris are proud to be associated with Table Mountain and all the other cultural, nature and wildlife wonders. We say thank you to all the people who voted for Table Mountain and we will continue to show the splendour of South Africa to all our clients who visit this wonderful country. We proud ourselves with the best tour planning possible which include meticulous research regarding tourist routes on and off the beaten track, outstanding choices in homely personal accommodation and last but not the least, knowledgeable and flexible tourist guides who will walk that extra mile with each and every client to give them the experience of a lifetime.
